Your entire body needs you to remain hydrated, no matter how warm spring and summer months become. However, it can be a bit boring when all you drink is water all the time. While water is great for your body, and especially your teeth, it also lacks one important component – taste. If you want to figure out some other options that can help you remain hydrated, then you should know that there are plenty of options for you out there.
Great Ways of Keeping Your Whole Body Hydrated
Produce should be your turn-to foods this summer. You want to fill your body with as many forms of fresh produce as possible. It will give you lots of nutrients, plenty of fiber, and more importantly, keep you hydrated. Pick items like celery, cucumbers, strawberries, melons, and peppers. They are full of water, and will give you a wide range of nutrients to enjoy.
If fresh produce isn’t what sounds good, perhaps you should just juice the produce. You can get many of the same benefits, without the downsides of eating fresh produce. You can blend it with yogurt if you need a little creamier texture. That will add in healthy nutrients that will also help fight cavities.
No matter what type of beverage you consume during the summer, consider cooling it with coconut water ice cubes. You can make them in your freezer much like you would standard ice cubes. Then, add them into your favorite drinks for an extra bit of hydration and nutrition. They won’t add a ton of flavor, but they will add benefits to your beverages.
Eat salads for lunch each day. Between the lettuce (or ideally spinach), carrots, celery, and other enjoyed forms of produce being added into the salad, you are getting plenty of nutrition and lots of hydration. If you eat this same type of lunch each day, you won’t likely have to worry about much in terms of dehydration during these upcoming summer months.
Your teeth need you to stay hydrated just as much as the rest of your body. If you get dehydrated, your body doesn’t create the same amount of saliva, which is needed to keep your teeth healthy.
